By:Patrick Hall Monday, 21 January, 2008

The PCC Beaver Track headed south to the Texas Tech Invitational this weekend for their first indoor meet of the season. Several Beavers turned in strong performances, with sophomore Coe Hawkins posting a 9:50 in the 3000m, breaking his personal best by more than 30 seconds.

“In addition to Hawkins’ PR, we had several other runners with impressive performances,” said Head Coach Cyrus Hall. “Freshman Logan Keiswetter has continued to improve, running an excellent 800m leg in the distance medley relay, as well as the 3000m and 5000m. And freshman sprinter Dexter Dietz was the surprise of the weekend with his 200m performance.”

“I think our runners came away impressed with the competition at Tech,” continued Hall, “and now I think they know what it takes to compete in the KJCCC as well as the nation.”

The PCC track team heads to Kearney, Nebraska this Saturday the 26th to run at the Charlie Foster Open at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
