Pratt Community College’s Block and Bridle Organization recently added the National Convention in Kansas City. Nine years out of the last 10, PCC has returned home with a sophomore who won the National Block and Bridle Sophomore Scholarship based on scholarship, participation in Block and Bridle and participation in other activities. This year’s recipient was Trey Befort.

Befort is a sophomore from Pratt, majoring in agriculture. The award, which is a cash scholarship, will help him continue his education in the spring at K-State. Befort is a graduate of Skyline High School and has been active in agriculture his whole life. A former member of Pratt County’s Southwest 4-H Club, Befort was awarded the “I Dare You Award” for leadership in his senior year of high school. He brought that solid, quiet leadership style with him to Pratt Community College and continues to be successful in and out of the classroom.

Block and Bridle is a National organization for students with an interest in agriculture. Bill Hunter serves as the advisor. For more information about the group or about the National Scholarship, please contact Hunter at 620-450-2239.
