The Pratt Community College Women’s Softball Team swept its last home double header Wednesday afternoon against Cloud County, winning by a 2-1 margin in both contests.

In the first game, Alicia Neushwanger (FR, Loveland, CO) pitched seven innings, picking up the win with nine K’s and only two hits. The game was tied 1-1 at the bottom of the sixth when Melissa Truman (SO, Valley Center) drove in what proved to be the winning run. Neushwanger pitched herself out of a jam at the top of the seventh when Colby had runners on second and third with one out. Neushwanger got the second on a fielder’s choice and struck out the last batter for the 2-1 win.

In the nightcap, Giselle Guzman (FR, Mexico City, Mexico) pitched seven innings with six K’s and three hits. At the end of seven with the score tied 1-1, Neushwanger returned in relief. Jodan Chaney (FR, Toole, UT) had a game winning RBI double in the bottom of the eighth for another 2-1 win. On the day, the Beavers had no errors.

Pratt travels to Hutch on Tuesday, April 18.
