PCC Women’s Golf Wins Region VI

PCC defeated Colby Community College for the Region VI Golf title on Tuesday, and will now be headed to the National Tournament May 15-18 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Amy Wolfe shot a two day total of 210 to take second place, and Erika Householter shot a 234 for fifth, followed by Martha Meisenheimer in sixth place with a 235. There fifteen Jayhawk Conference golfers vying for individual honors, and two teams competing for the team title.

Wolfe saved her best round of the season for the finale. She had barely broken 90 for most of the year, but put together an 88 and 82 for the first two 18’s, then finished with 40 on the last nine.

Householter had been in the 80’s several times this year, but could only manage a 96 and 97 until her final nine had her at 41.

Meisenheimer came out strong in her opening round with a 91, but followed with a 102 the next day, and then a 48.

The medalist for the tournament was Jessica Osburn of Dodge City with a 200.
