Fall 2007 Semester Grades/Make-up Final Exams

Because of the cancelled final exams due to severe weather conditions and loss of electricity, students have the following options:

Receive a semester grade based on all graded work up to the final exam (No final exam). All grades will be initially calculated assuming this option and the student need not take any action.

Take a make-up final exam and have it included in the calculation of your final semester grade. To exercise this option, the student must notify the college of her/his intention and complete the final at the scheduled time.

Notifying the college that you wish to take a make-up final exam:

You may send an email of your intent to take a make-up final exam by sending a message to advisor@prattcc.edu. Please note in the message: Your name, course name and instructor name.

Or, you may sign up for the make-up final on Monday, January 7, 2008 (8:00a – 12:00noon) in the Student Success Center.

Or, you may call the Student Success Center at 1-800-794-3091 and ask for Extension 138 or call 620.672.9800, Ext. 138 or leave message on the college voice mail system.

All notifications of intent to take a make-up final must be received not later than 5:00p, Monday, January 7, 2008.

Schedule of Make-up Exams

Exams will be scheduled at the following dates/times after the number of students taking each final is known:

Monday, January 7, afternoon and early evening
Tuesday, January 8 – Thursday, January 10, afternoons and early evening

Where there are only a few students for a particular final exam, students may take the exam in the Student Success Center or through arrangements with their instructor.

Where there are several students for a particular final exam, a date/time/location of the final exam will be determined and communicated.

Obviously this is an unusual and confusing circumstance for all involved. We sincerely appreciate the patience of everyone involved.

Posting of semester grades

Instructors will post semester grades based on all graded work before the final exam for all students. The grades are to be posted not later than 5:00p Monday, December 17, 2007. Grades will be available to students through the BUS/IQ Web system.

For students who elect to not take the make-up final, this initial posting will be your semester grade.

For students who take the make-up final, a grade change will be made after your final exam is included in your semester grade calculation.
