By:Patrick Hall Monday, 19 March, 2007 Two weeks ago the PCC Softball Team was in the throes of early season doubt and confusion with a 2-11 record, but in a complete reversal of fortune, the Beavers have recorded an 11-2 record over the last two weekends, including half a dozen wins by the eight run rule. After sweeping their four game home tournament on March 10th and 11th, Pratt went on a four day road trip this past weekend. The first stop was McCook, NE, where Pratt picked up two wins against McCook Community College, winning 15-6 and 12-7. On Friday, the Beavers headed to Colby. The opening game against the Trojans was one of the few disappointments on the trip, with Pratt dropping the 8 inning game 2-1. Pratt bounced right back though, with an 11-0 decision in 5 innings. Alicia Neuschwanger got the loss in the first game, and Giselle Guzman picked up the win in the second. On Saturday, the Beavers opened with another 8 run rule win over Lamar, with Neuschwanger getting the 8-0 win. Pratt followed that with another 8 run rule 11-1 drubbing of Colby, with Guzman and Amber Youngers pitching. Neuschwanger and Guzman then fashioned an 11-5 win against Independence. On Sunday, Pratt opened with a 2-1 win over Otero, a team the Beavers hadn’t beaten in three years. Neuschwanger got that win. Suffering perhaps from a bit of exhaustion, Pratt dropped the weekend’s last game to Lamar, 4-1. Pratt will face the always tough Otero at home on Sunday at Angood Field at 2:00 and 4:00.
