The college’s policy is to provide computer equipment and personnel primarily for the purpose of assisting with the conduct of the college's administrative and instructional operations and not to compete with local, private computer services. Incidental use of the college computer system by non-college users may be approved by the administration when it is judged to be in the college's best interest. Non-college users will be charged for the use of the computer system at prevailing rates as determined by the college. Requests for the use of the college computer system are subject to the parties' willingness to be governed by college rules and regulations, with the understanding that the college's computer functions are of first priority. Requests from political groups must receive Board approval.
All programs and data on the institutional computer system will be reproduced and held under the authority of the college administration. At a minimum, the administration will assure that a plan exists to safeguard critical institutional data.
