PCC Scholarship Auction a Success

01 May 2014

On April 25, the Pratt Community College Foundation hosted the 26th annual scholarship auction. The theme was “Under the Big Top,” and the carnival-inspired evening included dinner, raffles, a live auction with John Hamm, a silent auction and a performance by PCC’s vocal ensemble, Encore!. Altogether, more than 90 items were auctioned off.

According to Kent Adams, Vice President of Finance / Operations, the auction netted $37,597 for student scholarships.

“I think PCC as a whole can congratulate themselves for supporting this event from the beginning, along with Pratt and surrounding community businesses and individuals that made this all possible for our students,” said Foundation Director Ann Ruder, who coordinated the event. “I also want to congratulate my team, as without them this wouldn’t have been a success.”

PCC provides athletic scholarships to athletes, departmental scholarships by area of study, tuition assistance to graduating seniors of Pratt County, summer scholarships to all students enrolled in at least six credit hours, veteran scholarships to service members who served a minimum of 90 days in Afghanistan or Iraq, and tuition credit waivers to high school students who earn an A or a B in qualifying College Start (concurrent) courses. Sixty-three percent of all students receive financial aid of some kind.
