PTK to host 'Bleed for the Throne' blood drive on April 23

05 April 2019

The Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Pratt Community College will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Apr. 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. via the blood mobile in the parking lot in front of Benson Education Center. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card, driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Appointments to donate can be made at redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome to the event. This year all donors who come to donate blood at the blood drive will automatically be entered for a chance to win a full-size Iron Throne from HBO’s Game of Thrones! Plus, they will get a commemorative Bleed for the Throne poster, while supplies last.

Phi Zeta, PCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa regularly and proudly partners with the American Red Cross to hold blood drives on campus. The Red Cross has over 130 years of experience providing humanitarian aid – including more than 70 years of supplying blood to those in need.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
