PCC receives In-Kind Scholarship Donor Award from the Miss Kansas Organization

08 June 2018

During the second night of preliminary competition at the Miss Kansas 2018 pageant volunteers and donors of scholarships were recognized for their continuing support to pageant scholarships.

According to their website, the In-Kind Scholarship Program allows colleges and universities to designate any form of scholarship to designated Miss Kansas and Miss Kansas' Outstanding Teen contestants. Many of these awards may be renewable and may vary according to GPA, level of accomplishment in the Pageant or other criteria established by the school.

Pratt Community College President, Dr. Michael Calvert, accepted the MKO In-Kind Scholarship Donor Award for the institution.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Miss Kansas Organization for being a continuing supporter of the event and its contestants though scholarships for more than 30 years,” said Calvert. “Both PCC and the community are grateful  to be the home of the Miss Kansas Pageant for more than 60 years and we will continue to support these women and the organization and the great work that they do. Providing facilities and services for a large scale event like the pageant is just one of the ways that PCC celebrates being part of the Pratt which is why our middle name is community.”

The Miss Kansas Pageant has been held in Pratt for 63 years and the Miss Kansas Organization is a great supporter of the community it calls “home”.
