PCC Men’s Basketball Coach Honored

02 July 2014

Pratt Community College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Jesse Shaw is among those being honored for his athletic achievements by Northwest Missouri State University, where he played as a student. His 2003-2004 team will be inducted into the university’s M-Club Hall of Fame this October, along with former student-athletes, coaches and other title-holding teams.

Shaw's team that started their season 13-0, reached a number one national ranking for the first time in school history, finished the season 29-5, won the MIAA tournament and advanced to NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

Shaw was also recently named 2014 Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Junior College Coach of the Year. Recipients of the KBCA awards were honored on June 28 at Kansas Wesleyan University. Shaw is pictured here after the ceremony.

During his tenure at PCC, the Beavers have had nine All-Conference athletes, six All-Region athletes and two alumni with professional contracts, and the 2014 team won the Region VI Championship.
