Your Beaver men’s basketball team won the Region VI tournament on March 8, 2014 over Hutchinson at Koch Arena in Wichita. The final score read 77-69 Beavers, and the win qualifies us for the National Tournament in Hutchinson for the first time since 2005, and only the fourth time in school history.

The game was a back and forth affair in the first half, but some hot shooting jumped us out to a 43-35 halftime lead. Our defense came through in the second half though, and held tough through the Blue Dragon runs that got the game back all the way to one possession; However, free throws and defense cut the next down for the Beavers at the end.

Kaion Seales was the MVP of the tournament; He had 11 points, four rebounds and two steals Saturday night. Robert Davis was All-Tournament; He had 22 points and 2 steals. Javis Flynn was also All-Tournament; He had seven points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds. Kevin Allen was named to the All-Tournament team as well, and he chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds Saturday night. Thomas Tshikaya stepped up over the weekend with a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tshikaya and Merrill Holden’s defense on our opponent's guards was a large component of the team's victory. They held Kadeem Allen, Arizona signee, to 7 of 19 shooting Saturday.
