Summer hours begin Monday, May 21 and will extend through Friday, July 27. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Faculty Secretary/Financial Aid Clerk

FACULTY SECRETARY/FINANCIAL AID CLERK  
Full time 12-month position provides secretarial support to faculty members and assists the Financial Aid Department in administering the loan programs, financial aid transcripts and scholarship programs. Previous secretarial experience required with excellent office skills, ability to cope with multiple interruptions and work under pressure of deadlines. 

Faculty Secretary
General Description and Purpose
Perform secretarial duties for assigned full-time and adjunct faculty members.  May be called on for other instructional work as time allows.

Primary Functions/Responsibilities

  • Basic secretarial duties including the preparation of tests, syllabi, work-sheets, official correspondence and other instructional related documents for faculty.
  • Responsible for the operation of the assigned faculty office area including:  telephone operation, reception and scheduling of persons wishing to visit with faculty, monitoring of traffic in office area, awareness of faculty office hours and whereabouts on campus, coordination of required faculty responses to official information requests.
  • Responsible to establish working priorities so that an equitable allocation of secretary's time is available to all assigned faculty for basic secretarial duties listed above.  As time allows, secondary assistance may be provided in the form of test monitoring, classroom substitution, homework grading and other similar tasks.
  • To attend and support student activities sponsored by the college and Instruction Division such as music concerts, drama productions, Phi Theta Kappa ceremonies, graduation, etc.

Financial Aid Clerk
General Description and Purpose
Assists the Financial Aid Director in administering the Loan programs, Financial Aid Transcripts, and Scholarship programs.
      
Primary Functions/Responsibilities

  • Financial Aid Assistance
    • Acts as college representative of the Financial Aid Office (FAO) in absence of other FAO staff.
    • Assists in the implementation and delivery of assigned financial aid work/activities/services
    • Provides excellent customer services related to financial aid processes to students and college community
    • Supplies financial aid information requested by callers and refers other inquiries to the proper person or department; takes messages for FAO staff and advises callers on the best way to proceed to complete financial aid processes.
    • Assists students in completing the FAFSA application.
    • General financial aid counseling
    • General award package components
    • Maintain student files
    • Maintain computerized record-keeping
    • Reports as required
    • Reviews financial aid applications with students for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage Financial Aid High School and College Transcripts
    • Receipt Transcripts from Admissions into Financial Aid Operating System
  • Assist with Day-to-Day Office Administration
    • Adheres to FERPA and other regulatory guidelines.
