With three campuses and online, Pratt Community College Nursing has options! Starting fall 2015 (pending KSBN, KBOR and ACEN approvals) the Winfield campus, will offer a five semester (which includes one semester of pre-reqs), traditional Associate Degree Nursing Program (RN). Students must have an active Kansas CNA to be considered for the program.
At the Wichita and Pratt campuses and online, there is a three semester (which includes one semester pre-reqs) Associate Degree Nursing Program (RN). One must be a nationally registered Paramedic or active Kansas LPN to be considered for the ADN Completion Program.
We are fortunate to partner with other institutions of higher learning. Our partnership with Cowley College enables students in the Cowley service area (Cowley and Sumner counties) to take pre-nursing coursework at any of the Cowley College campuses or online and to have class and skills lab in Winfield at a building shared with Cowley Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Allied Health training. The Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) partnership with Hutchinson Community College and Kansas Department of Corrections enables PCC and HCC to utilize the KDOC facilities, primarily El Dorado Correctional Facility, for clinical sites and pays for a full-time staff member to teach. The South Central Kansas Nursing Partnership (SCKNP) is a partnership with Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) of which WATC provides the LPN education portion and PCC provides the RN education portion, including Pratt and Wichita campuses and online. The SCKNP maximizes efficiencies, including shared staff, resources, and professional development. Students benefit through efforts to streamline admissions and student policies.
