Students scoring within two points of these scores may appeal their lack of access to the class by completing the College Start Course Placement Appeal on the PCC College Start web site.

 

All Other College Start Courses

For all other College Start courses, students must meet one of these "ability to benefit" scores or have a specific ACT composite score as indicated.

COMPASS Writing = or > 32, Reading = or > 62, Algebra = or > 18
ASSET Writing = or > 35, Reading = or > 35, Numeric = or > 33

 

Notes on COMPASS score:

COMPASS Math: If you are looking at the COMPASS print-out, use the scale and score with "Placement Domain" next to it.

COMPASS Math: There are several scales (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, College Algebra, Trig) each is a higher level than the previous one. So a 20 on the College Algebra scale qualifies for College Algebra because the student tested into a high scale.
