Baseball Handles Tonkawa In Seven Innings

The Pratt Beavers were scheduled to play a nine-inning game with the Mavericks of NOC Tonkawa, but PCC ended the game in the seventh with a score of 13-3.

It was a great day to be a hitter, and each of the players in the Pratt lineup had at least one hit, and five players had multiple hits. Gaige Webster was 4-5 with two doubles and scored three times. Justin Crouch was 2-3 with four RBIs and a home run. Scott Alvarez was 2-4 with a double. BJ Dean was 2-4 with five RBIs and two home runs. Avery Booth was 2-3.

Clayton Blanks was the starting pitcher and collected a win, his second of the year. In five innings of work, Blanks allowed two runs on three hits and two walks. He struck out seven. Creighton Hoover pitched the sixth inning and allowed one run on two hits and struck out two hitters. Garrison Lorenz came on in the seventh and finished the game with one hit and one walk.

The Beavers are in conference play again this weekend as they travel to Concordia, Kan. to play Cloud.
