Women defeat Bethany, move to 4-0 on season

12 November 2012

The Women's team also played their home opener this Saturday night as they took on Bethany Junior Varsity. It was a good chance for the Beavers to clean some things up before a tough upcoming schedule.

Pratt jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading 39-15 at the half. The second half was more of the same getting a balanced attack offensively and everyone playing solid minutes as the Beavers got a 72-34 win.

Hayli Jo Smith led the scoring attack with 19 points in only 18 minutes of play. Kesley Stroble was also in double figures with 11. Twelve of the 13 players scored for Pratt and on the defensive end the Beavers swiped 20 steals as they forced Bethany into 30 turnovers.

Things will get a lot tougher for the 4-0 Beavers this week as they face 3 quality opponents from the Jayhawk East: Allen at home Tuesday, they will then travel to Coffeyville to play the host Ravens on Friday, and Labette for the second time this year on Saturday.
