Beavers fall to 10-6 on the year after 1-2 stretch

10 January 2013

Since returning from Christmas Break, the Beaver Men's Basketball team has played three games. Our first contest was a week ago Wednesday vs McPherson Junior Varsity. The guys came out hot, full of energy, and built a large lead we would never give back in route to 21 point victory that moved the Beavers to 10-4 on the year.

Monday night Cloud County came to town to give the Beavers their first taste of conference action on the year. The T-Birds looked ready for conference play, and jumped out to a 14 point first half lead on tough defense and intensity.

"I was proud of the fellas in the second half though," said Jesse Shaw, Head Mens Basketball Coach. "We fought back to cut it (the lead) to 3 with 8:44 left, but ran out of gas and didn't make enough plays to bring it home."

The Beavers lost by 8, and moved to 10-5 on the year, and 0-1 in conference.

On Wednesday the Beavers travelled to Liberal to face off against Seward County. The Beavers were defeated 81-48 and moved to 10-6 on the year.

The Beavers will return to the Beaver Dome Saturday at 8 p.m. to welcome the Dodge City Conquistadors.
