Pratt Community College announces their hours for the Summer of 2017.

Summer hours begin Monday, May 22, 2017 and will extend through Friday, July 28, 2017. Operating business hours will be  7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Degree Options

Pratt Community College is an affordable option for students looking for a great ag education. Courses transfer through articulation to all four year universities in Kansas and many other larger ag programs throughout the Midwest. The faculty works with students to ensure that their credits will transfer to the institution of their choice. PCC Agriculture offers a broad array of Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees and Technical Certificates.
 

Ag Education - Associate of Science

This program of study is a transfer program for students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year college. Ag Ed is designed for students who wish to meet requirements to teach agriculture in a public school setting.
 

Agribusiness & Economics - Associate of Science

This program of study is a transfer program for students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year college. Emphasis is placed on the study of business and economic factors affecting agribusiness firms, production and consumption of food, and the marketing and management of agricultural farms and commodities.
 

Agronomy - Associate of Science

This program of study is a transfer program for students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year college. This major includes the study of crop, soil, weed, range and environmental sciences.
 

Animal Science - Associate of Science

This program of study is a transfer program for students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year college. This major teaches the basic principles which apply to the broad field of Animal Science.
 

Pre-Veterinary Medicine - Associate of Science

This program of study is a transfer program for students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year college. This major is for students seeking their DVM degree. This program starts the sequence of science courses needed to prepare the student for application to veterinary school.

Associate of General Studies - Ag Concentration

Many students choose not to major in one area but concentrate on breadth rather than depth of knowledge. This degree is useful to students who wish to explore many areas before narrowing their study to one major field or for students who have no intention of transferring into a bachelor's degree program. _________________________________________________________________________________________
 

Farm and Ranch Management - Associate of Applied Science

This degree program is geared to prepare students to enter the agriculture production work force. These situations include farms, ranches, feedlots and diversified livestock operations. Emphasis is determined by the student, options would include feedlot operations, agribusiness, agronomy or animal production. _________________________________________________________________________________________

Farm & Ranch Management Certificate - Crop Applicator Option

This option is designed to prepare the students for direct employment in a production agricultural situation after completing 1 year at PCC. These situations include farms, cooperatives, and agronomy companies. This program prepares you with the primary knowledge needed in soils, plant science, identification, equipment and crop production. You will need to plan to procure your CDL and Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in the future.
