My Experience

This semester in my Children's Literature class, we are partnering with another class in Germany. I have really enjoyed getting to work with the German students; They are very dedicated students and bring a wonderful element of diversity to our projects. Many of us have even become friends outside of the classroom and regularly communicate with our new German friends.

We do a lot of community service with our athletic teams but one of my favorites is volunteering to coach some of the club volleyball teams from around the area. It's an awesome feeling getting to share the sport I love with the little girls, and it's even better when they show up to the games to cheer you on. The support and atmosphere that the community brings to our games is like none other, and I really believe it's due to us participating in little things like this throughout the community.
