The women’s soccer team hosted their final game of the season yesterday, Oct. 18, at the Beaver Dam against Dodge City Community College. With the winds howling up to 50 miles per hour, the teams had a clear advantage for one half each as they attacked the south goal.

Pratt had the wind at their backs for the first half and failed to produce a goal, but not for lack of trying. The second half began scoreless with Dodge having the "wind advantage."

"The Beavers showed incredible poise and dominated possession for much of the half." said Coach Shicke. "Holly Harrod was able to run down a long pass and beat all the defenders and goalkeeper for a walk-in goal."

This provided the final 1 nil score in favor of Pratt. Donna Nickolay made some incredible saves to preserve the final score and her 5th shutout of the season.

The season ended with that win as the Beavers finish ninth out of 14 in the Jayhawk Conference.

"It was a wild game, I am thankful for the win. I am a bit disappointed with where we finished this season. The girls worked hard and narrowly missed out on some very close games." said Schicke. "Nonetheless, I am proud of what we achieved as a team and the bonds and memories made along the way. This truly is an amazing group of ladies, and I am fortunate to have them call me ‘Coach.’"
