Beavers clinch playoff berth with victory over Neosho
For the third straight year the Beavers Men’s Soccer team has clinched a playoff-off spot, this time with a 4-1 victory over Neosho on Monday afternoon. From the outset the Beavers dominated the game, and were rewarded with goal from Nik Bohne after just 10 mins (Eddie Hernandez with the assist).
Just minutes later Nik Bohne struck again, scoring after an assist from Tim Wise to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead. The Beavers continued to create numerous goal chances, and were rewarded again with another goal from Nik Bohne to give the Beavers a 3-0 lead.
"Scott Robertson in the nets, and the defense lead by Joe Pena and Dom Swindler were excellent in shutting the Neosho offense." said Coach Kewley. "The 2nd half was much the same with PPC in complete control, and Jorge "Gordo " Rodriquez put the Beavers up 4-0 with a rocket of a shot from 25 yards out."
Neosho pulled a goal back in the final minutes, and the contest ended with the Beavers winning 4-1.
This victory secures the Beavers at least the 4th spot in the standings, and home field advantage in the first round of the play-offs. The Beavers record is now 10-6 on the season.
Next up is a trip to Dodge on Wednesday to complete the regular season schedule.
