Lady Beavers beat the weather and Garden City

Release Date:
Tuesday, October 09, 2012

The Lady Beavers traveled to Garden City Saturday for conference match against Garden City Community College. With the rain falling and the temperatures in the low 30’s, Pratt dominated play.

Many goal scoring chances were squandered as the Bronc Busters were able to hang on in a scoreless first half. Early in the second half Lauren Randall chipped a free kick over the outstretched arms of the GCCC Goal Keeper to provide the game’s only goal.

Donna Nickolay was able to record her 4th clean sheet of the season.

"Although we did not play well today, it was good to see the team work together to preserve the clean sheet," Coach Schicke said. "If we play to our potential, we could earn our way into the top seven spots and finish this year with a playoff run."

This win puts Pratt Back in a tie for 8th place with four conference games remaining.

Next for the Lady Beavers is a home match against Barton County; Wednesday, October 10th.
