Beavers defeat Hesston 3-1 in nonconference play
The Beaver soccer team travelled to play Hesston in a non conference game on Saturday, Oct. 6. On a cold and windy night the Beavers took control from the outset and went close on several occasions.
Finally Dom Swindler gave the Beavers the 1-0 lead with a great header on a cross from Gordy MacNab. Nik Bohne scored a second goal to put the Beavers ahead 2-0 with just minutes left in the first half.
"After some sloppy defense from PCC Hesston pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 going into the half time break," Coach Kewley said.
The second half was more of the same with the Beavers in control, and soon after the break Gordy MacNab slotted home a penalty kick after Braulio Morales was fouled on the penalty area to give the Beavers a 3-1 lead.
With the Beavers in complete control , Dillon Eichelberger and Luis Soto were given some time in the nets. Nick Willis also played his first minutes of the season.
This 3-1 victory leaves the Beavers at 7-5 on the season, and next up is a huge conference game against Nationally ranked Barton Community College on Wednesday.
