Trip to Miami, Okla. proves fruitful for Men’s Soccer
Men’s soccer travelled to Miami, Okla. to take on North Eastern Oklahoma on Saturday, where the men left with a 1-0 victory.
The first half was a hotly contested affair with both teams having chances to take the lead, however after 20 minutes, Colter Hawks, in his first start for the Beavers, headed in a cross from Joe Pena to give the Beavers the 1-0 lead.
The Beavers played excellent defense and controlled the game into the half time whistle. NEO fought back in the 2nd half, but the defense, along with Scott Robertson in the nets held firm.
The Beavers had chances to increase the lead in the second half, but finished the game with 1-0 victory. This win leaves the Beavers with a 5-5 record.
Next up is another big conference game at Coffeyville on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.
