Reimer to teach photography class
Pratt Community College will be offering a Digital Photography Class this fall, taught by Stan Reimer, local professional photographer. The class will be three credit hours and will be offered on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The class will start on Sept. 6 and run through Dec. 13. The class will hold up to 17 students.
Some of the subjects covered throughout the course includes: learning to use the digital camera settings; creating quality images; processing the images in Photoshop; making a quality print; storing and archiving images; and basic principles of photography such as exposure, composition, subject matter, use of lenses, etc.
The course will be lectures, demonstrations, hands-on instruction in Photoshop in a digital lab and critiques of student images.
Reimer has been a professional photographer in Pratt for 34 years. He is the owner and photographer for Stan Reimer Photography and the Photography Gallery in Pratt. Reimer has been awarded the degrees of Master Photographer and Master Craftsman by the Professional Photographers of America. He has been a judge and instructor at the community college level and professional schools as well as seminars for the past forty years. He has won eighty photographic awards at the Professional Photographers of America’s International Print competitions since 1980.
