Rodeo at Garden City, KS
The PCC Rodeo Team has just returned home from Garden City, and I am pleased to announce that the Women’s Team has won their second straight Rodeo.
Shayna Miller won the average in the Goat Tying while Tish Simon and Tanya Steinhoff won second and fourth overall in the Barrel Racing. Tanya leads the pack sitting #1 in the Central Plains Region Barrel Racing Standings.
The Women’s Team moved up in the overall standings from fourth to third this weekend and are now in contention for a College National Finals qualification. The top 2 teams in each region qualify for the CNFR each year.
The men’s team led by CNFR qualifier Mitchell Gardner had a rocky weekend overall. Gardner made a solid run in the steer wrestling during the long round to win third, while freshman Layne Livermont claimed sixth in the steer wrestling and Kyle Zeigler placed in the bullriding. During the short round Layne Livermont won the round and secured 2nd place in the average. Gardner and Zeigler failed to place.
