Garrison leads Beavers to 13-3 win over Ft. Scott
A great effort by Sam Garrison spurred PCC to a 13-3 win in five innings over Ft. Scott on Friday at Ft. Scott.
Garrison racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Beavers. She tripled in the first inning, homered for a grand slam in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.
Seven runs in the first three innings helped PCC blow out Ft. Scott. An RBI double by Fernanda Garcia, an RBI triple by Garrison, and a sacrifice fly by Brenda Novelo during the first inning helped the cause.
Raushell Baca recorded the win for the Beavers. She allowed three runs over five innings. She struck out six, walked six and surrendered four hits.
Beavers built upon its lead with four runs in the fourth. Garrison's single got things going, bringing home Kelsie Lundgren. That was followed up with a passed ball score by Garrison.
Beavers piled on two more runs in the top of the fifth. A double by Novelo ignited the offense,, scoring Garrison. That was followed up by Sam Kettering's double, plating Novelo.
 
Novelo leads Beavers to 15-6 win over Ft. Scott
A great effort by Brenda Novelo carried PCC to a 15-6 win in six innings over Ft. Scott on Friday at Ft. Scott.
Novelo blasted two home runs for the Beavers. Novelo went 4-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Novelo homered in the first and sixth innings.
Nine runs in the opening three innings allowed Pratt to easily put away Ft. Scott. An RBI double by Fernanda Garcia, a two-run home run by Novelo, a solo home run by Sam Kettering, her first of the season, an RBI single by Annette Thomas-Daw, and an RBI single by Kelsie Lundgren in the first inning and a two-run home run by Stephanie Seewer, her first of the season, during the second inning fueled Pratt’s offense early. In all the Beavers hit four home runs in the win.
Ely Ortega got the win for Beavers despite allowing six runs over six innings. Ortega struck out six and walked one.
Beavers tacked on another four runs in the fourth. A passed ball scored Rachael Schoonmaker for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Garcia's double, plating Thomas-Daw and Lundgren.
 
The Beavers lost a key player when Sam Kettering was injured on a play at first base, she broke her wrist and is out indefinitely.
