Softball Drops Two at Dodge
Kelsie Lundgren went 3-3 at the plate, but Pratt still fell to Dodge City 6-3 in seven innings at Dodge.
Dodge City never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring two runs on a two-run home run by Kylie Newton.
One run in the top of the sixth helped Pratt close its deficit to 5-1. A home run by Liz Wahl fueled Pratt's comeback. Walters ended the inning by getting Corrin Cook to ground out.
Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Pratt close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI single by Lundgren and set off a Pratt rally. Walters got the last out, as Pratt's Brenda Novelo grounded out.
In game two, Pratt lost 9-8 after a surprise rally turned a five-run seventh inning advantage into a Dodge City victory at Dodge.
Dodge City was in a difficult situation in the seventh inning before it recovered for the win. The two teams combined for 17 runs and 27 hits, including seven extra base hits.
