Men’s Soccer Wins against Dodge City
The Men’s Soccer Team took on Dodge City Community College in a key conference match on Wed., Oct. 5. In a game played in gale force winds, the Beavers took the lead in the first half on a goal from Max Bradley with the assist going to Jonny Porta. Playing with the strong wind at their back in the first period, the Beavers had plenty of chances to extend their lead.
In the second half once again the wind played havoc with the game, and the Beavers played excellent defense to keep Dodge City at bay. Charlie Samushonga once again came up with several fine saves, and the Beavers again had chances to put the game away but couldn’t quite finish.
This 1-0 win keeps the Beavers in the hunt for a play-off spot, and the record on the season is now 6-8. The men get a little break, and the next action for them is Tues., Oct. 11 at Johnson County Community College.
