Lady Beaver Secure Their Spot At Region VI Tournament
The Lady Beavers swept Neosho County Community College this past Saturday, securing their spot in the Region VI Division II Tournament in Topeka on May 7th and 8th.
In game one, Pratt was led by Molly Baker, a freshman from Rose Hill, who went three for five and Hannah Page, freshman from Pratt, who went three for four with an RBI. Ashton Neumann, freshman from Pratt, provided a spark in the bottom of the of the fourth with a two-shot homerun giving the Lady Beavers the lead. Liz Whal, freshman pitcher from Westminster, Colo., started in the circle for the Lady Beavers. Wahl allowed three runs before being relieved by Samantha Rice, freshman pitcher from Topeka. Rice would shut out Neosho the rest of the way giving the Beaver the 10-4 victory.
In game two Bre Beckerman, sophomore from Inman, started in the circle for the Lady Beavers. Beckerman allowed five hits before being relieved by Rice in the bottom of the fifth. Rice would allow just three hits, and struck out four in the 4-3 victory. Neumann and Baker were once again the offensive leaders for the Beavers. Baker went three for three with two RBI's while Neumann went two for three with two doubles.
The Lady Beavers will travel to Topeka to compete in the Region VI Division II Tournament this weekend.
